"Third Time's the Charm" by papatheo "Third Time's the Charm" by papatheo
Our third time out on the Lake Michigan ice. We were on the road at 3:20 and arrived at Harrington Beach in time to catch a lot of the predawn light. [This shot is from a little later but there will be plenty to come]
I was holding on to the ridge crest with my elbows and dug in with my knees and toes to keep from sliding from my vantage point.

* I am in danger only of sliding backwards... away from the lake. My difficulty is in trying to stay on the crest because of the slippery conditions.

not here. Its cold and rainy. You would never know it was summer. What a bummer. When you go back you be careful. No more hanging off of cliffs. Although the shots are awesome. :giggle:

 That's what I thought while walking around on top of it. We were there just a week before and it was totally different... it feels like different worlds depending on weather and lighting!! ;)

Whoa! From the looks of the photo, the ice looks so very slippery. So, please be careful if you should go back there again soon. Very nice capture from your elbows and knees!

Beautiful shot, but lord don't fall in. Just a gut feeling that water, wouldn't take long to send a person hypothermic at all!

:) Believe me we don't take chances out there... I use my tripod to make sure the ice is sound and take each step with full awareness... so I'm not taking any unnecessary risks!!!
