This shot is from last winter at Peninsula State Park in Door County, Wisconsin. We went up there a few times this year but nothing much was happening: there were some small ice formations but nothing like the larger than life icy vistas of last winter. Many of these ice shards are much taller than myself... needless to say we continued shooting until our hands and feet lost all feeling... then we'd warm up and go back out.
The upper right corner gives an idea of the size of this "ice shove" along the shore of Lake Michigan a half an hour or so north of Green Bay.
