Snow Stripes

Parfrey's Glen just below the Baraboo Ridge was the first designated "Natural Area" in Wisconsin. For several years I lived just above its headwaters at the top of the ridge... it starts as a single spring but is soon joined by many others bubbling out of the ground and flowing through DNR property down to the glen. Wild Watercress grows in the pools of never frozen water and herds of White Tail Deer are everywhere.
Unfortunately the flooding that area underwent caused major damage and Parfrey's Glen has been closed since June.
