Walking and photographing Herring Gulls at Kohler Andrea Beach on Lake Michigan. You are right... and we were trying to entice them with $3 a loaf bread... some days are like that. Actually, we did get some good shots but the gulls were pretty happy to stay out of most of them. One photo... three exposures.

Beautiful shot. It's unfortunate that part of the sand and the sky are so grainy. Ah, well, sometimes you can't have everything...

I've found the more you try to change things (contrast, saturation, etc.) the more tendancy there is to get grain in areas that already have a start that way. Getting rid of it is another difficult story.

I think you are right... but I want to update some of my photos; they are all large files at 300 ppi and I didn't know how to sharpen them for the web until last week... I'm a pretty slooowwwwww study when it comes to computereze!!!
