Thank you!!! Actually you are not far from the truth... HDRs can greatly enhance the fur of animals as can "tone imaging" which is the second part of the HDR process. Instead of shooting three separate images of a screen you just shoot one... then copy it as it is , overexposed a little and underexposed a little... then put these into the Photomatrix pro "tone imaging" program. On this photo what I did was desaturated the background so that it wouldn't distract so much from the lions... and at the end I put the photo through Lucis art, first "exposure" setting. This is what really makes the cat's fur stand out... it almost separates the hairs and gives each one emphasis!!!
