I find this piece to be very striking not only in color but form. I think the touch of the background makes the flamingo pop, you almost forget that it's an actual living thing...almost as though it is a rolling mountain or desert, but the eye is like the sun; rising and in great focus.

I've tried to find a single thing to say to better this portrait, but to me it's basically perfection in color, form, and vision. I could only imagine how difficult this must have been to get unless with a great zoom lens!

Neither do I... and it is always a pleasant surprise when the summer season has come... the animals are outside and the flamingos are brought back from some warm winter location.
