Evening Closing In by papatheo Evening Closing In by papatheo
After leaving the "Island in the Sky" area of Canyonlands National Park we had a long but beautiful drive to the "Needles" area. We stopped several times, literally overwhelmed by the scenery.

[Tonemapped from seven exposures of one Raw photograph]

Beautiful work, I really love the light in this scene and the texture you've brought out in the trunk.

:) Thank you Rock... I took the photo in RAW and processed it in Silkypix. In Silkypix [a program for processing Raw into a visual image] I processed seven different exposures at from -3 to +3F stops. Then ran them as an HDRi in PhotomatrixPro and tonemapped it. Then off to CS3 for final adjustments and resizing with onOne [a fractile plug-in]. So it isn't technically an HDRi since it isn't a multiple photograph image but it is a multiple exposure image. Most of my newer work follows pretty much this same program.

It is awesome and worth the effort. I am determined to try some of this the next time I get out. I will start reading up.
