I guess it's all relative... I think it gets cold here [sometimes -35F] but I have Canadian friends who tell me they can get down to -65F [exaggeration?]. In the winter they keep candles in the car [the heat from a candle can keep you alive through the night].
Yes, it is all relative. Canada's lowest temperature,–81°F (-63 c), was observed at Snag, Yukon Territory, near the border of Alaska at an altitude of 2,120 ft on February 3, 1947. I think they are exaggerating as it usually only gets that cold if wind chill is included in factoring it. That would be -54 c and Canada usually only gets to -30 to -40c (-34 to -40f). I can understand about the candles since I often burn one in the front of the house when I only have the back stove going. It makes a difference.
Well it could be that some of those stories were helped by a few bottles of Labatt's Blue... as I remember it had a sneaky way of loosening the tongue and constricting the brain!!!
