A male Costa's Hummingbird flashes me as I approach to photograph him. It is quite a treat to be able to be so close to these exquisite jewels and observe them as they go about their daily business of courting, nesting and feeding in
this open air building.
There are eight local varieties of hummers that are in residence here as the specific flowers that are the nectar source for the different hummingbirds come into bloom.
